October One Acts 2020

SISTERS, WE ARE SISTERS

The first show of the season opens on Halloween with Sisters, We are Sisters by Kate Mead, a final selection of PNW Playwrights Festival that, unfortunately, was canceled because of COVID-19. Sisters, We are Sisters, a short play about two sisters and an elusive “peeping tom,” features Irene Fields and Deborah Langlois. The play was produced by Gary Young with technical expertise by Dan Ball. Deborah directed and Irene created the set.

THE HAPPY PLACE

The second play, The Happy Place, is a story about two men in a basement; one tied to a chair, the other holding a gun. A nosy mother intrudes. It’s a story of intrigue, humor, relationships and a major drug deal gone bad. Directed by Gary Young, it features Michael Beckner as Dougie, Kirby Neumann Rae as Jaz and Kathy Williams as Sandra, Dougie’s mother. The Happy Place was written by Scottish playwright Jack Dickson, who is donating his royalty fees to the Hood River Adult Center for the Meals on Wheels program and the Capital Funds Drive which starts November 12th.

Both shows will be Zoom-cast on Halloween at 1pm, 4pm, and 7pm. To join the Zoom-cast, please go to: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89364968240 at one of the designated times. The ID number for the Webinar is: 893 6496 8240.
